Frequently Asked Questions

Can sighting be guaranteed?

No, but you increase your chances traveling with a professional guide.

Are the northern lights always bright?

No, they may be bright one day an faint another day.

Can the northern lights be seen if it is cloudy?

No, but if there are any brakes in the cloud there is a chance. A fairly clear night improves the chance of seeing the lights.

What colors can I expect to see?

Mostly green, but if lucky you may see yellow, purple and red.

Can I get a second tour for free if we don't see the northern lights during the tour?

No, but we are willing to cancel the tour same afternoon if the conditions are poor for no fee. Also, if you have another evening available in Reykjavik we are willing to shift the tour to another night - as long as we have availability.

Do you cancel the tour if it is cloudy?

Yes, we cancel the tour at no cost to you. Often we can only see what is happening with the cloud cover same afternoon.

Who will be my guide?
