About Tour Guide Akira N.

Hello,

My name is Akira.

I am certified national guide interpreter.

I have been living in Tokyo for more than 30 years.

I love walking in the city with no particular plan finding trasures in the streets such as nice ramen noodle restaurants, cafes, funny billboards, and most of all, narrow alleys that remind me of good old days.

I will help you enjoying the days in the city fully and making your vist memorable one.

I am looking forward to seeing you soon.

Memorable tour

Akira was such a great guide. He brought us around to very cool local neighborhoods and we had an amazing lunch. He’s a joy to be with and makes sure you’re informed, fed and having fun.

Most unique tour experience

We didn't want the typical tourist spots and that's what we got. The day was so fun and informative that it flew by. Akira was an excellent guide and host. He curated a tour just for us. And, we met some wonderful people along the way. Today was special.

Dear Irene, Thank you so much for the great review. I arrived at the hotel lobby without any plan, we met, and just started walking. Since we met, I had sensed that you and Mitch had seen me as not just a guide you hired but as one human being, so I tried to add personal touch onto the tour as much as I could, and I’m so glad that it worked. I want you to know that the day was special for me too. I am looking forward to another chance to explore my loving city together. Sincerely, Akira

Off the beaten path tour.

Akira will take you to places where locals go for lunch and the best shaved ice. We also stopped by for a coffee made with love. If you are looking to visit Tokyo, off the beaten trail, then, I would highly recomend. Many thanks to Akira, who has been an amzing guide.

Dear Chris, Thank you so much for the great review. I’m so glad to know that you enjoyed the day with me. It was so much fun to walk in the city with wonderful people like you and your family that I (and I assume you too) had forgotten about unpleasant weather that day. Thank you so much for having me as a guide and thank you so much for paying respect to locals and their culture wherever we went, I’m looking forward to another chance to explore my loving city together. Sincerely, Akira

Outstanding tour of Tokyo!

Tokyo's dizzying array of sights and experiences can be daunting - where to begin? Answer: Akira!! Akira-san guided my son and I on a tour of Tokyo on two separate days, and I strongly recommend him. Akira listened carefully to my general ideas before the trip, and designed an outstanding Tokyo experience. He took us to both major "must see" sites as well as out-of-the way places that gave us a real sense of Tokyo. We enjoyed traveling like locals and seeing local neighborhoods of all types with Akira. He was always prompt and efficient, and very considerate of our needs. For example, when we got too hot on one day, rather than forging ahead he changed plans on the spot and took us to an indoor attraction (Tokyo's National Museum). We thoroughly enjoyed Akira's excellent communication skills and informative commentary about all the places we visited. If you are in Tokyo, I highly recommend allowing Akira-san to enjoy your time there!

Dear Keith-san, Thank you so much for the great review. I am so happy to know that you and your wonderful son Josh enjoyed the tours for two days with me. We visited variety of places, both popular sites and local neighborhoods, to feel vibes of the areas. Wherever I take my clients to, I have always hoped for them to know what each of the places are meant for locals. And also, I have always hoped for them to get an idea of what it is like to be local in Tokyo. I am so glad you felt like traveling like locals during the tour and you enjoyed it. It makes me sad sometimes that recently there has been more people visiting Japan like visiting a kind of "theme park" behaving like customer who see locals as those people who suppose to serve them. However, it makes me happy and feel positive anytime when I guide people with good heart like you and Josh. Thank you so much for being thoughtful and paying respect to locals and their cultures. Thank you so much again for choosing me as a guide for your special Japan trip which is not for business but for fun, and for new discovery. I am looking forward to another chance to exploring my loving city together. Sincerely, Akira
